What safeguarding means at SAYS

Protection from Sexual Exploitation & Abuse

SAYS prohibits any sexual activity with a person under 18, transactional sex, and the abuse of power for sexual purposes — without exception.

Child Safeguarding

Every programme protects children from harm; all staff carry a mandatory obligation to recognise and respond to signs of abuse.

Prevention of Sexual Harassment

SAYS maintains a workplace free from harassment, with clear standards of conduct for all personnel.

Confidentiality

All reports and investigations are handled with the strictest confidentiality consistent with keeping people safe.

Survivor-Centred Approach

The safety, dignity, rights and wishes of the survivor are paramount in every response.

Whistleblower Protection

Those who report concerns in good faith are protected against retaliation of any kind.

Reporting a Concern

How to raise a safeguarding concern safely

Anyone — a community member, staff member, partner or member of the public — can report a concern about the conduct of SAYS personnel or partners. Reports are treated confidentially and handled through SAYS's established referral pathways.

Good-faith reporting is protected against any form of retaliation.

Any response prioritises the safety, dignity and wishes of the survivor.
Reports submitted through this form go directly and only to SAYS's PSEA Focal Point. If you prefer, you can also raise a concern in person at any SAYS office.
